Ending the use of animal fur in fashion 

No fur production is humane. There is nothing humane about raising a wild animal in a small wire cages or traps for its entire life, depriving it of the ability to run, dig or swim, only to be killed. Get the facts about this cruel industry.

On fur farms, animals are confined in tiny, wire cages unable to act out their most basic natural instincts such as running, digging or, for mink, swimming.  They are brutally killed at less than a year old by gassing, electrocution or even bludgeoning. Some are even skinned alive.

In the wild, animals are caught in archaic metal traps, suffering for hours or even days, unable to escape or seek shelter or water, before being beaten or suffocated. This terrible cruelty is for frivolous fur trim on jackets, hats and gloves. 

Not only is the fur trade cruel to animals, but it also has a huge carbon footprint and scientists have called it out as being a serious threat to public health. Fur factory farms and tanneries pump toxic waste and chemicals such as chromium and formaldehyde into our soil and waterways, devastating local ecosystems.
