Some of our successes
Of saving horses and giving them sanctuary.
Make up the Duchess population—a mix of horses, donkeys and ponies.
Are the oldest residents; considered elderly in horse years!
Safe and Sound
The 1,120-acre sanctuary outside Oakland, OR is an oasis for over 130 horses, many of whom are survivors of the Premarin industry. Some spent years in stalls, pregnant and hooked up to machines to collect their urine for hormone replacement drugs. Duchess Sanctuary is committed to providing them with the highest standards of equine care and the loving kindness they deserve for the rest of their lives.
