BRUSSELS ―The Icelandic government has formally confirmed it will introduce a legislative bill in February 2027 to amend the Whaling Act, giving “particular consideration” to a permanent ban on whaling, an announcement welcomed by Humane World for Animals (formerly called Humane Society International).

WASHINGTON—Humane World for Animals and Humane World Action Fund, formerly called Humane Society of the United States and Humane Society Legislation Fund, issued the following statement today after President Donald Trump announced a new executive order designed to weaken federal protections for wolves as part of a package of concessions that attempt to placate the livestock industry. During a White House event on Friday afternoon, the President suggested that ranchers should be able to shoot wolves at will, which U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins noted that kind of wildlife killing is not allowed where wolves are federally protected.

Previously unpublished footage from Finnish fur farms shows that so-called "monster foxes"―animals selectively bred to grow unnaturally large for larger pelts―continue to be bred despite years of fur industry promises of reform and legislation intended to prevent animal suffering.
