Are the oldest residents; considered elderly in horse years!

Duchess Sanctuary provides a safe haven for formerly abused, abandoned, neglected and homeless horses, ponies and donkeys—with many survivors of the Premarin industry. Some residents spent years in stalls, pregnant and hooked up to machines to collect their urine for hormone replacement drugs. Today, they are able to live in peace, receive compassionate care, and enjoy the freedom and dignity they were previously denied.

A peaceful paradise

Duchess Sanctuary is committed to providing the highest standards of equine care and the loving kindness these horses deserve.

Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, the sanctuary is a lifelong haven for everything that lives here. Watching our equines recover, thrive, and live out their days in peace is a reward beyond measure.
