How the service works

You are in control of your monthly text donation. After you confirm your £3 monthly gift, your donation will continue each month unless you choose to skip or stop it. Each month, before your donation is taken, we will send you a free text reminder. If you would like to miss that month’s donation, reply SKIP to 70007. We will not take your £3 gift that month, and your regular donation will continue the following month. You can cancel your subscription at any time by texting STOP to 70007. If you cancel, no further monthly donations will be taken. If you wish to opt out of SMS and phone marketing from Humane World for Animals UK, text NOCOMMS HWA to 78866. You may still receive essential administrative messages about your mobile donation subscription.

What will I be charged and what will Humane World for Animals UK receive? 

For monthly donations, you will be charged the donation amount, plus the standard rate each month. 100% of your donation goes to Humane World for Animals UK; all fees for this service, provided by Cymba, are paid by Humane World for Animals UK.

The standard network charge for text messages is at your network provider's rates. If the keyword or short code you text are incorrect, you may still be charged a message at your standard network rate. However, you won't be charged by us for the donation as you won't be donating to Humane World for Animals UK. 

You can make as many individual donations as you like by text, but the overall amount must not be more than £30 in a single day. If you try to donate more than £30 in a day from the same mobile number, you may still incur your standard network message charge.

How will my donation be used? 

Your donation will help Humane World for Animals UK tackle the root causes of animal cruelty and suffering to create permanent change. Our work includes campaigning, public education, advocacy and practical action to protect animals in the UK and around the world.

I do not have a UK mobile phone. Can I still donate by text? 

You can only donate by text from a UK mobile phone. You cannot donate using this service from a Channel Islands, Isle of Man or other non-UK mobile.

Can I donate from overseas using my UK mobile phone? 

No. Your phone needs to be connected to a UK network at the point of texting to be able to donate.

Who can make a donation by text? 

You must obtain permission from the bill payer before sending a text message. If you are under 16 years old, you must have your parent or guardian's permission to send a text donation to Humane World for Animals UK.

How will you protect my data? 

Your data will be handled in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and UK GDPR. We will use your personal information to administer your donation and comply with our legal obligations. If you separately consent, we may also contact you by text about our fundraising, campaigns, activities, events and services. You can withdraw your marketing consent at any time. 

Text donations will be added to your phone bill or taken from your pay as you go credit and passed to Humane World for Animals UK in an aggregated form.
