Based on the responses of over 2000 residents, the survey found strong concern for animal welfare among Kolkata residents, and highlighted the opportunity to meet the gaps in awareness and knowledge to help translate compassion into informed action. 

WASHINGTON—Humane World for Animals and Humane World Action Fund, formerly called Humane Society of the United States and Humane Society Legislation Fund, issued the following statement today after President Donald Trump announced a new executive order designed to weaken federal protections for wolves as part of a package of concessions that attempt to placate the livestock industry. During a White House event on Friday afternoon, the President suggested that ranchers should be able to shoot wolves at will, which U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins noted that kind of wildlife killing is not allowed where wolves are federally protected.

Previously unpublished footage from Finnish fur farms shows that so-called "monster foxes"―animals selectively bred to grow unnaturally large for larger pelts―continue to be bred despite years of fur industry promises of reform and legislation intended to prevent animal suffering.

SAN JOSE, Costa Rica—Tourists arriving at Costa Rica's main international airport are being encouraged to leave wildlife and souvenirs made from animal parts out of their luggage through a new awareness campaign led by Humane World for Animals and Costa Rica's Judicial Branch.
