Alexandra Freidberg is the Chief Impact Officer, International, of Humane World for Animals.

She oversees our international offices and ensures our work maximizes impact for animals while staying aligned with long-term, mission-driven objectives. As an accomplished leader with extensive experience executing organizational strategy across diverse cultural and geographic contexts, she is adept at translating global vision into locally-tailored approaches. 

Previously, Freidberg held the role of Deputy General Counsel, providing comprehensive legal guidance for and oversight of the organizations’ initiatives. She also served as the Senior Vice President of Operations where she drove operational excellence and international efficiencies, along with day-to day oversight of programs and operations. Before joining Humane World, Freidberg practiced regulatory and transactional law at leading international law firms and in-house. Earlier in her career, she worked as an environmental engineer, helping to remediate some of the most contaminated sites in the country. 

She holds a B.S. from Stanford University and a J.D. from George Washington University Law School. Originally from Belgium, she currently lives in Northern Virginia with her family, including two rescue dogs and a cat.
