Humane World for Animals embraces volunteers as essential partners in our lifesaving work. From helping at local events or supporting with research and outreach, to cleaning cages at our care and rehabilitation centre, there are lots of ways to help animals! We engage volunteers in supporting staff at every level to amplify our efforts.
Volunteer opportunities
Care and rehabilitation centre in Vaudreuil-Dorion, Qc
Volunteers work with our Animal Rescue Team to help animals who have been the victims of cruelty and neglect. They assist in the ongoing care of dogs and cats who have been rescued from harm—whether it’s from an out-of-control hoarder or a puppy mill. Volunteers provide care to animals in our care and rehabilitation centre. Responsibilities including cleaning enclosures and common areas, feeding, watering, restocking supplies, washing dishes, walking dogs or socializing animals as directed.
Program support: Remote and/or in person
This volunteer opportunity is for individuals who are interested in supporting our organization and helping animals by doing various tasks. Upon signing up, you will be contacted with various opportunities to support our programs, from assisting with local events to helping with remote tasks.
Tasks can include: helping with planning events hosted by our organization, and attending events hosted externally, assisting with outreach to stakeholders about our mission and programs, or helping to compile information that is vital to the success of our work.
Forward Food Program Support, Remote and/or in person
This volunteer opportunity is for individuals who are interested in supporting our Forward Food program and helping to protect farmed animals with various tasks as they arise. Upon signing up, you will be contacted with opportunities to support our programs.
Volunteers may be invited to support events or outreach to stakeholders; compile information about plant-based nutrition, sustainability and animal welfare; complete data gathering and more.
Farmed Animals Protection Program, Remote and/or in person
This volunteer opportunity is for individuals who are interested in supporting our work to protect farmed animals through education and outreach. There will be opportunities to assist remotely and in-person, and tasks may include research, helping to create and disseminate resources and news related to our program, and supporting events.
Process
Fill out an application to an opportunity of your choice. Upon receipt of your completed application, staff will contact you to outline next steps and to have you fill out additional paperwork, including a waiver and release of liability and a volunteer agreement.
