WASHINGTON—Humane World for Animals, formerly called the Humane Society of the United States and Humane Society International, has been recognized with the internationally esteemed Red Dot Award, winning in the Brand Design & Identity category. The Red Dot Award is one of the most celebrated design competitions and recognizes outstanding design quality and innovation from around the world and across a wide range of disciplines.

The new Humane World for Animals brand was launched in February of this year. Simultaneously, the organization’s lobbying affiliate, Humane Society Legislative Fund, became Humane World Action Fund. The organization’s new globe-shaped logo displays animals of the air, land and sea, representing the broad scope of animal protection work the organization does around the world – work that includes rescuing animals from disasters and large-scale cruelty cases, as well as combating factory farming, animal testing, the fur trade, trophy hunting and puppy mills.

“Our new name, imagery and brand story illustrate our dedication to tackling the root causes of animal cruelty in order to create lasting change,” said Alison Corcoran, chief development and marketing officer of Humane World for Animals. “Receiving recognition from Red Dot is an honor that reaffirms our commitment to excellence in every aspect of our organization, including how we visually communicate our mission.”

The new name, logo, brand positioning and visual identity were designed in partnership with Lippincott, a global brand, experience and marketing consultancy.
