Tai Conley

With a background in organizational strategy, Tai Conley leads efforts that ensure resonance with communities and empowers more people to protect animals.

Tai Conley is an accomplished strategist and thought leader who guides Humane World for Animals’ external-facing work to strengthen community relationships and build strategic partnerships that expand our reach and deepen our impact. With a background in public relations, integrated marketing strategy, program design and organizational development, Conley leads efforts that ensure our programs resonate with diverse communities and empower more people to protect animals in meaningful, culturally grounded ways.

She brings a systems-level approach to community outreach—working across program teams to assess and enhance the inclusiveness, accessibility, and cultural responsiveness of our policies and initiatives. Her philosophy centers on meeting communities where they are and ensuring they have the tools, trust and support to care for animals in their own neighborhoods. Through this work, Conley is helping to grow a movement where all people feel a sense of belonging and responsibility in animal protection efforts.

Conley’s leadership is rooted in a deep academic and professional foundation. She holds a master’s degree in public relations and corporate communications with a concentration in integrated marketing strategies from Georgetown University and a bachelor’s degree in organizational psychology from Howard University. She also holds certifications in inclusive leadership from Cornell University, as well as change management and nonprofit fundraising. Her work is informed by an understanding of human behavior, team dynamics, and the strategies needed to build inclusive, high-performing organizations.

Before joining Humane World for Animals, Conley led organizational strategy, community engagement campaigns and communications initiatives for some of the world’s most recognized global nonprofits including United Way, the World Health Organization, and the Association of American Medical Colleges. She has advanced equity-focused efforts across sectors, tackling issues such as healthcare disparities, women’s economic empowerment and access to quality education.

Conley brings that same level of impact to animal protection—guiding the organization toward greater inclusivity, broader audience engagement and more authentic community relationships. Originally from California, she now lives in the Washington, D.C., area with her family. She is the proud mom of a brilliant little human and a pup named Jayka.
